Our education graduates are heavily pursued by numerous school systems; Longwood alumni teach from Virginia Beach to Los Angeles.

Students interested in teaching elementary, middle, or special education major in Liberal Studies, an interdisciplinary Cook-Cole College of Arts and Sciences major specifically designed for them, and take at least 40 credits through the CEHS for certification. Students interested in teaching at the high school level select a major from the Cook-Cole College of Arts and Sciences and take at least 40 credits through the CEHS.

Students interested in Social Work benefit from earning at least 800 hours of hands-on field instruction. Many graduates are able to obtain MSW graduate degrees with only one additional year of study.

Students in the Health, Recreation, and Kinesiology (HRK) programs experience personal and professional growth through academic, clinical, and laboratory settings, as well as field experiences. These programs receive national recognition and have the highest levels of accreditation because of their unique combination of theoretical and applicable perspectives.
