APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Your application for admission to Longwood University will be evaluated after the Admissions Office has received all the necessary documents. You are required to submit the following:

  1. The Application for Admission and personal statements.
  2. A non-refundable application fee of $40. Please make your check or money order payable to Longwood (credit card payment is accepted if applying online). Include on the check the full name of the applicant. (Freshman applicants with limited financial resources are encouraged to pursue an application fee waiver. For more information, contact your high school Guidance Office.)
  3. An official copy of your high school transcript(s).

  4. An official copy of your transcript(s) from each college or university attended, including dual enrollment. Once you have submitted your initial transcripts (high school and/or college), you are required to update your admission file with grades from newly completed quarters or semesters.
  5. Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) or American College Testing (ACT) scores. Scores may be sent directly to Longwood by the testing service.
    All references to the SAT include Math and Critical Reading scores only. We do not use the Writing section during the admission process.
    Please use the Longwood institutional codes: 5368 for SAT, 4366 for ACT.

SAT I and ACT scores that appear on official high school transcripts (sent directly to Longwood) will be accepted. If you are over 23 years of age and/or have complete 30 transferable hours of credit at an accredited college/university, you may be exempted from submitting SAT or ACT scores.

Note: Students planning to major in modern languages should take the SAT II Subject Test in the language(s) of their choice for placement purposes.

Scholarship: January 15
Regular Admission: March 1 for Fall
  October 15 for Spring
