APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Your application for admission to Longwood University will be evaluated after the Admissions Office has received all the necessary documents. You are required to submit the following:

  1. The Application for Admission or Adult Application (see Apply Now) if over 24 years of age.
  2. A non-refundable application fee of $40. Please make your check or money order payable to Longwood (credit card payment is accepted if applying online). Include on the check the name and social security number of the applicant.
  3. An official copy of your high school transcript mailed directly from the high school to the Admissions Office.
  4. An official copy of your transcript(s) from each college or university attended, including dual enrollment, mailed directly from the college to the Admissions Office. Once you have submitted your initial transcripts (high school and/or college), you are required to update your admission file with grades from newly completed quarters or semesters.
  5. Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) or American College Testing (ACT) scores if have earned fewer than 30 transferable hours and if you are under 22 years of age. Scores may be sent directly to Longwood by the testing service. All references to SAT scores are based on the Critical Redaing and Math scores only. Writing scores are not used in the evaluation process. Please use the Longwood institutional codes: 5368 for SAT, 4366 for ACT.
  6. AP, IB or CLEP scores mailed directly from the testing agency to the Registration Office

SAT and ACT scores that appear on official high school transcripts (sent directly to Longwood) will be accepted. If you are over 23 years of age and/or have complete 30 transferable hours of credit at an accredited college/university, you may be exempted from submitting SAT or ACT scores.

 

APPLICATION DEADLINES

Longwood uses a rolling admissions plan; however, all prospective students are urged to apply early. Priority dates are:

  • Spring semester - October 15th
  • Fall semester - March 1

Applications will be accepted after these dates on a space available basis.  The priority dates are especially important for housing, scholarships, and financial aid consideration.  It is your responsibility to ensure that all transcripts and materials are sent directly to the Admissions Office.
