COURSE BY COURSE EQUIVALENCIES
***** *****
WARNING: Please refer to the Academic Planning section before using the Course by Course Equivalencies. Just because a course transfers does not mean that it will be applicable toward your degree.
***** *****
A grade of "C" or better must be earned in each course for students not receiving the AA, AS or AA&S degree. When there is no direct course equivalent, the number 293 is used to indicate that the course will be accepted as an elective in that discipline. It is best to choose courses with Longwood equivalents when possible, rather than selecting courses designated as electives (293).
If two courses transfer to Longwood under the same department and number, only one course will be allowed for transfer credit (except any 293, Art 120, 130, 160 and Music 201, 202, 205 and 224). All courses transfer the same number of credits awarded by the institution where the course was taken.
Before planning a schedule of classes at a two-year college, please consult closely the sections on I. General Education (31 Lower Division) II. Degree Requirements, and III. Major Requirements. If a course fulfills all or part of one of the General Education Goals, the goal number is indicated in parentheses.
Even though a course transfers, it may not be applicable toward your degree.
These equivalencies are effective for students entering Longwood beginning with the spring 2004 semester.
